Beer of the week: Sailors Grave Brewing New Releases
Chris and Gabbie Moore mustn’t sleep. Six months since launching Sailors Grave Brewing, the duo have released over ten different beers of superior quality and there are no signs of slowing down. Forever experimenting with locally sourced ingredients, the following beers are unsurprisingly filled with character.
Sailors Grave Brewing Autumn Farmhouse Ale
This spicy saison was brewed with rye, and carrot seed flowers from nearby Lindenow. Hints of slight tartness, citrus zest and pepper interact with mouth-filling texture for a hugely drinkable result.
Sailors Grave Brewing Whisky Sour Berliner Weisse no.2
The second release of this whisky sour-inspired beer comes in a subtly refined guise. Notes from the brewers:
We candied hundreds of local oranges and added them along with Maraschino cherries, Meyer lemon, orange bitters and spent some time in Lark Whisky Barrels. Pouring with a thick head of creamy white foam this beer has a lemony tartness instead of the usual lactic tang.
