Spirit of the week: Julien Frémont ‘Réserve’ Calvados

From Julien Fremont, who practices organic farming in Normandy, comes this incredibly elegant Calvados. Four years, as opposed to the usual ‘Réserve’-attaining three, of ageing in barrel has imparted complex spice and pepper tones and instilled wonderful fruit purity. It’s so comforting, and, considering the price, rewarding to consume.
