Bang for Buck: NV Traversa ‘La Giovincella’ Vino Rosso
An atypical, in an Australian context at least, Piedmontese blend of Barbera and Freisa that’s distinctly spritzy – and usually produced for local consumption only, so we’re thrilled to share it with you!
Think of it as similar to dry, savoury Lambruscos from the neighbouring Emilia Romagna hills, but, due to the two grape variety’s signature qualities, it’s inherently floral, earthy and aromatic. We recommend serving it chilled to enhance the refreshing strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit tones; though if the frizzante quality isn’t your thing, simply decant, shake and allow for ten-or-so minutes of settling time.
