Wine of the week: 2018 Momento Mori Fistful of Flowers

Dane Johns’ entry-level cuvée; his ‘wine for the people’ where the price tag, for its category, is reasonable and the recipe consistently plays to his strengths: Moscato Giallo and Vermentino, fermented and aged in stainless steel for freshness, and bottled by hand using gravity. To taste, the floral aspect shines truly with musky citrus blossom and exotic bath salts preceding notes of juicy and perfumed stone fruits. There’s a level of brightness and restraint throughout too which we haven’t seen in this wine before – definitely the best release to date.
