Wine of the week: 2018 Brave New Wine Release
With a swag of twelve new cuvées in 2018, Yoko and Andries have managed to avoid spreading themselves too thin and have instead created the most consistent and exciting set of releases that we’ve seen yet. It’s a diverse selection, so what are you waiting for? Get drinking!
2018 Brave New Wine Ambergris, $35
Pinot Gris fermented on skins. Very pretty aromatics backed up by apricot amaro – it’s got spice, tannic grip, and a subtle savouriness while still bringing that fruit balance. Great with food.
2018 Brave New Wine Andiamo!, $34
Two days of skin contact brings a beautiful texture to this Vermentino, with lemongrass, citrus balm, pepper, and just a touch of salinity.
2018 Brave New Wine Dreamland, $40
Riesling fermented with a mix of local native bush botanicals. A touch oxidative on the nose with a clean line, cinnamon, lemon myrtle, and finger lime in the glass. So zippy and fresh that you could (and even should) add it to your next spritz!
2018 Brave New Wine Gewurlitzer, $34
Chardonnay spends twelve days on Gewurtz skins, bringing florality, musk, and turkish delight backed up by pink grapefruit acidity and a savoury finish.
2018 Brave New Wine Glitter Us Petillant Naturel, $34
Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Vermentino, and Gewurtztraminer – incredibly aromatic with citrus, musk, and a delicate earthiness, while still keeping it nice and light. (No SO2)
2018 Brave New Wine Nat Daddy Petillant Naturel, $34
Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Shiraz, and Grenache. A red fruit bomb of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry leaf backed up by refreshing acidity.
2018 Brave New Wine Rude Boy, $28
Grenache, Shiraz, Vermentino, Tempranillo. Slurpy chilled red with raspberry, blackcurrant, leafiness, and subtle fresh pepper spice. Great Southern Bojo.

Fresh and zippy Riesling, with lime cordial, clean bright acidity, and a little bit of salinity on the nose.
