Hooray! We’ve made our own summer gin! It’s a creative collaboration with our mate Andrew Marks, of The Melbourne Gin Company, and we’re chuffed to say the least. While crafted with approachability and sunny vibes in mind, it’s also somewhat different to what you might expect; here, our owners, Paul and Jess, took inspiration from their Indian heritage and love of Chai tea to create a final ‘single shot’ blend consisting of eight different – yet complementary – botanicals.
Tangelo, mandarine, lots of cardamom, coriander seed, cassia bark, anise myrtle, pepper berry and juniper naturally present highly-toned aromas, before a burst of refreshing citrus washes over the palate. As such, it’s definitely a candidate for refined cocktail making and is fantastic neat. But, as we discovered at our recent Winedown 2017 event, it’s unquestionably superb in a classic G&T (we used Fever-Tree’s ‘Mediterranean’ Tonic Water and garnished with slices of Valencia oranges to great effect).
