Today we ask the question, does everything taste better when it comes in a magnum? We think, yes.

Marco Lubiano comes from a long line of winemakers; originally from Northern Italy, the Lubianos have called Australia home for a few generations now. Marco implements simple techniques in his winemaking, allowing the vineyard to speak for itself—in this case, Lucille Vineyard, located in the Huon Valley, south of Hobart.

What Am I?

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

Where Am I From?

Australia, Tasmania

Who is Marco Lubiana?

The Lubiana family have been making wine in Italy’s northwest since the late 1800s. After World War II, Andrea Lubiana migrated to South Australia to start a new life making wine down under. His son, Mario took over and then Steve continued the legacy, moving the family tradition to Tasmania in 1990. And now, it’s Marco’s turn.

After studying Oenology and refining his knowledge and palate in wine stores, he answered the siren call of Burgundy for an internship at Cote d’Or 2019. Like his ancestors, Marco believes 90% of winemaking is in the vines, so his approach to winemaking is minimalist and informed by the wisdom of his predecessors.
