Coming from 35-year-old vines, Josephine is made from a blend of Blaufränkisch and Roesler that was destemmed and fermented in a mix of large format oak barrels, then matured for eight months - and finally bottled unfined and unfiltered with no sulphur additions. It has an almost port-like nose, with almond and concentrated red cherry accompanied by savoury mushroom and forest floor earthiness.
