This wine is considered by many to be the 'Vin de Garde' of the Domaine and its density of fruit and powerful richness will most certainly reward 5-10 years in the cellar.

The Fixin Entre Deux Velles comes from the Domaine’s largest holding at 2.47 acres. The vines used for this cuvée average 45 years of age, and sit in the middle of the vineyard's slope on heavy limestone soils. The fruit was handpicked and de-stemmed to old concrete open fermenters, with a five-day cold soak before a long slow fermentation. Pressed to tonneau, of which 30% are new, for an elevage of 18 months before bottling. Deep resonate cherry leads into plum and complimentary oak. There's a broader, more square structure to this cuvée, which provides admirable architecture to support the scale of the wine.

Hailing from the village of Couchey in the Côte de Nuits, this fourth-generation Domaine crafts beautiful, traditional Burgundy.

With holdings in both Marsannay and Fixin, the wines of father/son duo, Philippe and Johann Robert have close family ties to the famed Domaine Armand Rousseau family, and while that could well be an easy sales pitch to lean on, these wines have no problem speaking for themselves in their own right.

These are wines that we're incredibly pleased to have on Australian shores, which far surpass their comparatively modest price points and make for an exceptional drinking experience.
