Hand-harvested fruit that was entirely de-stemmed and partially foot-crushed before a three-week open fermentation. Pours a lovely, practically opaque garnet and serves up heaps of cassis and new leather in the glass before balancing elements of fig and blood. Really beautiful wine that deserves a decant and will age with grace.

Joshua Cooper Redbank 1970s Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

This keeps its cards close to its chest, but with some time in the glass shows a palate of dark berries and cherry fruit, with fine layered tannins, bright cherry acidity and some graphite complexity. The second to ripen of the three Cabernet Sauvignon sites, the fruit was harvested by hand, partially foot crushed and open fermented for three weeks, before elevage in a mix of new Stockinger and seasoned Bordeaux barriques for 12 months. Allow this to unwind in a decanter and it will show its layers of complexity, or if you can bear to wait, cellaring will reveal more nuance and complexity with time

From the one and only Owen Latta, this is full of jubey red fruits, so much orange and flavours akin to everyone's favourite aperitivo, the Negroni. Nebbiolo from Malakoff and Landsborough vineyards was harvested across a month for a perfect balance of freshness and ripeness of fruits. Fresh, zippy and a little grippy, it's a great bottle to share with your cocktail-loving pals looking to make the leap to vino.
