ABOUT RIESLING
This aromatic grape variety earned itself a place in the hearts of Australian wine lovers many moons ago, and it’s not hard to see why! Naturally high in acidity, with heady aromas of citrus, orchard fruit and honeyblossom, Riesling wines made their way onto Australian dinner tables due to their natural compatibility with contemporary Australian cuisine. Riesling is a grape that shouldn’t be judged by name alone, as its wines can range anywhere from bone-dry to delightfully sweet styles and dessert wines. Though most often produced in a dry style locally, in Riesling’s homeland, Germany, it’s also made into a range of off-dry styles. This gentle sweetness, when balanced with the variety’s natural acidity, is an absolute delight to drink and makes for an exceptional wine pairing to a wide range of cuisines - particularly those throughout South and Southeast Asia!
