This Frappato—or Nerocapitano as the locals call it—is Sicilian sunshine in a bottle.
Fruit from twenty-year-old vines—planted over clay and limestone soils in the heart of Sicily— spent two weeks on skins before being pressed to concrete and left to rest for a further eight months. The result is light n' bright, with a heady perfume of Sicilian wildflowers and bitter herbs. Serve with a chill for a perfect afternoon in the sun kinda wine.
