Asher Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Fresh, balanced and focused thanks to a hint of smooth oak spice, white florals and white orchard fruit. There’s also a leesy edge that adds some lovely texture, alongside plenty of length and some nice complexity, before a clean finish.

Kumeu Village Chardonnay 2022

Aromatic passionfruit and flower, ripeness of fruit and just a whisper of grass on the nose, with more of that passionfruit carrying on to the zesty palate. Fresh, delicious and layered with of citrus acidity and a talc feel from some time on lees.

Makipai Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Quartz and saline on the nose lead to a wonderfully textural palate, with some lemon rind and hints of green herb, while remaining saline and mineral. Half the wine was direct pressed to tank, with the other half destemmed and whole bunches into neutral oak. An excellent NZ bottle that would appeal to devotees of the Loire Valley's natural wine offerings.

Huia Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Lots of morello cherry and some florals on the nose. A very polished palate of red berries, earthiness and herbal notes. Even more can be said for the wine with a little decant before dinner.

Novum Pinot Noir 2020

Displaying cool fruited notes of red current and dried cherry, with a nice leafy edge to the tannins. Made by the highly intelligent, deeply thoughtful winemaker, Andrew Hedley.

Makipai Pinot Noir 2019

Beautiful, certified organic old vine Riesling from the even more beautiful Marlborough! Delightfully off-dry, with ripe golden apple, nashi pear, and a flinty reduction. Starts out ripe and a touch sweet, and finishes crisp, dry, and mineral. SO well-balanced.

Settlement Ashmore Riesling 2019

Jules is making great wines out of Marlborough. Her Grüner is full of lime leaf and citrus, and textural tropical notes like guava, but there's also an herbaceous side. A great Grüner for those curious, and for lovers of the varietal.
