Stunning Canberra District Grenache that continues to evolve in the glass—just when you think you've got it under wraps, it surprises you by revealing even more of its serious side. Moppity-grown fruit spent six weeks on skins for this cuvée, in the glass it's textural and begins sweetly-fruited, with a smidge of savoury character that meets leaf litter and earthy cinnamon.

The ripeness of Hilltops' fruit is doing nothing but favours to this Tempranillo. Gloriously medium to full-bodied in the glass with layers of sarsaparilla and cola nut meeting a lovely herbaceous edge and a wash of leathery tannins.

Super juicy and light in the glass, with those moreish ripe raspberry notes we know and love in Gamay, along with fresh herbs, a lick of sour cherry and just a hint of carraway spice. What's French for 'we love it?'

An amplified, but still crispy Riesling from the too-often-overlooked Canberra district. Crisp with green apple and that softening talcy chalk that is always welcome to round things out. This one's a real bouquet of lime and grapefruit citrus. Delectable.

Mallaluka Naturally Sparkling Shiraz 2021

One of the flagship wines in the Ravensworth range, the Estate Sangiovese is sourced mostly from 25-year-old vines grown on granite soils at 650 metres elevation. It was processed as whole berries and spent six months on skins before pressing and provides a lot of tender, sweet, red cherry while the dried herbs and tobacco leaf tannins pull the palate in all sorts of directions and tease out the wonderful length. In a word, expansive!

Pinot Gris with a little Gewürztraminer and Riesling from 25 year old vines that's fermented on skins in concrete and then in amphora for seven months before being pressed. Unfined and unfiltered, full of spice, lantana and quince. Perfect with richer foods.

A really well-crafted blend where each varietal is processed and fermented in different vessels after varying times on skin, before being directly pressed and left to rest on lees for 12 months. The result is delightful, with grapefruit and green herbs shining through to create a moreish wine you won't be able to get enough of.

This is not just wearing its cooler growing season with confidence, it's absolutely owning it while embracing the spicier realm of what Shiraz Viognier can be. Salted plum and a pinch of anise intermingle with some leaf and stem elements from the whole bunches, with some beautifully spiced tannins that will unwind with some time in the decanter (or cellar if you can bear to wait)
