Chardonnay's richness meets cool-climate restraint. To be a good character you need some contradictions, those will give you broad appeal after all. This has that crisp stone fruit and some generous oak spice, with a refreshing line of acidity. Yum.

Tumblong for juiciness and a nice, crisp dose of acidity that will be right at home, sidling up to your bowl of bolognese, or Tuscan bean soup. Gentle handling of the grapes in the winery means the flavours are ripe with cherry, dried herbs and some soft chalky tannins.

Grown at above 800 metres, Mrs Peyton gets warm days and cool nights so the conditions allow for some dialling in. Undergoes MLF and matured in oak, you really get a balance of ripe fruit and moreish spice here. Sips are full of peach skin, stone fruit, grapefruit and a little buttery goodness.

Here they use Davidson Plum (a unique rainforest fruit native to the subtropical region of Byron Bay) and steep it in their dry gin. Made by the Chalmers family from the home estate and source of much of the Italian plant material we see especially in Victoria, but also across the country, hence the title Mother Block.
